Geoffrey West is Distinguished Professor and former President of the Santa Fe Institute (SFI) and Associate Fellow of the Martin School, Oxford University. Previously, he led high energy physics as a Senior Fellow at Los Alamos. A theoretical physicist, he has his PhD from Stanford, where he is currently on the faculty. Geoffrey has also taught at Cornell and Harvard. His recent work focuses on developing a “science of cities”: a quantitative framework for understanding the organization and dynamics of cities.
